This word took on an entirely new meaning in 2020. From each corner of the world, people experienced great changes, horrific changes, heartbreaking changes, and humbling changes, to name a few.
Truth be told, I’m sure a lot of us wish we could avoid the unexpected while we try to adjust to the ongoing mayhem 2020 threw our way, but life doesn’t stop for anyone, no matter how challenging it gets.
And so, I’m doing my best to embrace change – all of it – the good and the bad (and the ugly).
Thankfully, as we close out this unprecedented year, our family experienced a few pleasant changes, ones that brought smiles to our faces and ones we are happy to share with you, too.
First, the blog! I hope you love its new look! We wanted something fresh, something new! Something to reflect the vibe we want for this very special space. Take a look around, and feel free to click on past blog entries to get caught up with us, the Curry-Morton family! The blog has been organized into quite a few awesome categories, making it easier for you to navigate to the topic of your choice, from Parker’s Book Club to Love + Marriage to Travel + Explore and more.
We have big things planned for Happy Mama, Happy Babies, and at the core of these changes is you, our special readers. We create content and share experiences specifically for you in hopes of providing a safe, happy space for you to explore and learn. The great thing about parenthood (and also a bit intimidating at times) is that there is always something new to learn and uncover. I figure what better way than to do this alongside a tribe that values happy children and families?
Consider us your tribe! We got your back.
Speaking of Love + Marriage, Marquis (my husband) and I are in a new season in our marriage. Couples, I know you feel me on this! Marriage is a profound journey, and I really love this space we’re growing in together. This pandemic brought about a totally new level of closeness and discovery for our marriage, family, and business ventures. As a team, we’re navigating these new territories, and I’m excited to share this journey with you on the blog. We need more of this – more perspective and more insight on relationships. Although the blog has been largely centered on the kiddies, you can certainly expect more Love + Marriage topics in the near future.
While we’re on the topic of new territories, our family is in the process of looking for a new home, a new place to establish roots! This is thrilling, nerve-wracking, overwhelming, awesome, and about 50 other emotions rolled into one.
As much as I’d love to think that January 1st will be a fresh start, we should expect 2020 to nip at its heels. We’re battling a pandemic, we’re raising and educating our children in alternate ways, and we’re uncovering new layers to our relationships, personal and professional. Nevertheless, we should have hope in the future and hope in creating new, positive changes.
