As a parent, I’ve learned that children crave foods we introduce to their lives. If they crave cookies and candy, that is because they’ve had a taste and wanted more. With that in mind, I try to be mindful of what we eat at snack time because I want their bellies to be full with nutritional foods rather than sugary additives.
One of Parker’s favorite snacks is Ritz crackers with a thin spread of peanut butter topped with a slice of banana and a few raisins. She requests this often, and I’m certainly glad to make this for her. The potassium in bananas combined with the protein the peanut butter makes for a fantastic snack!
